Atlantic salmon are native to the coastal fresh water tributaries of the northeastern Atlantic, Iceland, Europe and northwestern Russia. From birth they spend 2 to 3 years in fresh water before migrating to the ocean where they spend another 1 to 3 years maturing before returning to spawn in the fresh water stream or river that they came from.
The North American group was once prevalent as far south as the Hudson River but are now considered endangered in the US with only one wild population remaining in Maine. Wild Atlantic salmon are classified as an Endangered and Threatened Marine Species in the US and managed/monitored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

We believe that human survival and the natural world are directly linked; if the natural world collapses, the human world does so as well. As ecosystems are compromised for the development of human kind we lose the foundation of nature and with it our future resources to survive. Our endeavor is but a small piece of a big puzzle being assembled by those who care and want to make a difference. Atlantic salmon are among the world's most majestic, healthiest consumable fish. With the foreboding population decline and endangered status, our intent is to reinvigorate the species and ensure our relationship with the fish for decades to come.
Riverence Atlantic salmon are derived from anadromous salmonids collected in nature and then domesticated over many generations. Domesticated Atlantic salmon (by quantity) is the largest species of salmonid in the world, farmed primarily in net pens along the coast lines of Norway, Chile, Scotland and Canada with a few locations in the Puget Sound of Western Washington and along the coast of Maine.
The growing human population needs a safe protein; one that uses resources to their highest efficiency and preserves the natural world.
